What is Gather?
Try out this new online event experience with Triptych Toronto
Gather is an integrative video chat platform creating more organic meeting and event spaces. While the pandemic has limited the possibility of in-person events, Gather allows for the event-going experience to be translated to a virtual world. Bidders and visitors to Triptych Toronto's Event will enter as avatars and move around a map of the room. As you get close to other avatars, your videos will pop up and you will be able to chat. While walking through the space, you will be able to meet new people, view artwork, and place bids to support our charities, just like you would if we were gathering in person. We can't wait to see you there!
Triptych Gather Town Essentials
- Move around the space using the arrow keys.
- By moving your avatar around our gallery, you can have spontaneous conversations with those around you. These can be either one-on-one or small groups depending on how many people are around your avatar. Speak with friends, our artists, and meet new people!
- When your avatar moves closer to an interactable object, it will glow yellow. Press x to interact with the object. At our event this could be artwork, the bidding sheet, or other fun items around the room!

Community Guidelines
When in the space, please follow these guidelines for maximum enjoyment for your and everyone else in the space!
Be mindful of harshly critiquing artwork as everyone’s taste of art is different!
Hate speech of any form will not be tolerated.
Respect others’ privacy and not reveal personal information of others within the Gather space.
You will not send spam or inappropriate messages in the chat or to others.
You can make screenshots of the event only with the permission of all those with their video on within the screenshot! There are designated “photo” areas throughout the space!
Use an avatar name that is reflective of yourself, such as your first name or a nickname, do not include offensive language or slurs in your avatar name.
You will never be asked for money during this event, if at anytime someone asks you for money please report them to an event organizer.
Only organizers can use TRIPTYCH in an avatar name.
Recording or taking photos of the bidding sheet is not permitted.
You will refrain from copying, downloading images of, or photographing the art on display.
Please be patient and respectful of others, especially in regards to having their camera/microphone off, not wanting to play or chat, experience wifi connectivity issues, or having difficulty moving their avatar in the space.
